I finally found time from work and good weather to take the completed raft for a maiden voyage.  Compared to my Anfibio Delta MX rafts this thing is faster to paddle on the flat water, yes it would benefit from a skeg, so that will happen in the future.  The cockpit feels smaller (widthwise) than the Anfibio, but the side tubes are also bigger a…[Read more]

GP Packraft Seat/FloorI’m not really looking at self bailing at the moment. Here in Tasmania the water is always cold, especially in the creeks and rivers that start from the mountains. I’ve just ordered a two piece suit to ensure I stay dry (and therefore warmer).

I have attached an image of a floor I am wanting to build. These are about 150€ each and postage. So fo…[Read more]

Hi just wondering if anyone knows of a decent supplier for extra fabric.  I’ve looked around various suppliers, but no real luck with anything decently priced or fitting the requirements.  I’m wanting to make a few inflatable floors/seats.

I’m located in Australia if that helps, but I assume a local supplier here will be impossible to f…[Read more]

So it took about a week to build my Telkwa.  Sure I made a few errors – overheating certain areas – accidentally touching areas of TPU that I shouldn’t have touched.  But I am super happy with how it turned out – only 2 small leaks at completion that were fixed promptly with a touch up using the heating iron.

I would definitely make some c…[Read more]

  • Thanks for the reply, considering I have a lot of shallow rivers in my area, I think the extra floor strength of the Telkwa is probably still a better option for me.

  • So, apart from the extra load carrying capacity, what are the main benefits? Am I right in thinking it will actually be easier to put it together, due to the design of the bow? What water rating would you be happy to say it could handle, Class III? And does the slightly stronger tube material negate the need for the wrap around bottom fabric…[Read more]

  • I assume an extra long TiZip would be very expensive and a heavy duty YKK zip would not be waterproof. Velcro could be an option but it wouldn’t stand up to a wave dumping of water in a class 3+ river.

  • Hi, can the spray deck be installed with a few modifications to allow it to be removed/stored.  I was thinking maybe 2 long zips along the sides allowing you roll it up, and then adding a velcro flap at the rear to hold it in place when in use.  I noticed another member installed a similar option, but it looked like he designed and installed a c…[Read more]

  • New user, just waiting on Pre-Orders to become available again.  I already own 2 Anfibio Packrafts and I am interested in making my own for a comparison.  Located in Tasmania, Australia.
